Description

The A119s V2 Car Dash Camera is an upgrade from the popular viofo A119s. The updates catered for the quality of the video, GPS mounting, and night mode recording. In fact, the manufacturer changed the sensor completely and used a much more improved one.

The aperture is also bigger and allows a lot more light to pass through. Now you can view footage with crisp clarity in all lighting conditions. In short, compared to its predecessor, the A119s V2 is a more complete dash cam and certainly makes for a worthy addition to any vehicle.

The A119s dash cam storage capacity is up to 64GB of HD footage. The upgrade provides twice as much room for storage.

The A119S V2 allows you to store up to 128GB of HD footage. The cam does not have to overwrite your existing files or have you transfer them for more footage recording; the storage is enough.

Other than these upgrades, the new version performs loop recording and has a built-in G-sensor similar to the old model to allow you to continuously record without transferring files and lock footage in place during accidents just in case you delete it by mistake.

Experienced dash camera users will notice the upgrade immediately because the quality of the video gets better from the old version.

Main Features

Stealthy design

The A119s has a compact body that conceals well behind the windshield and doesn’t cause distractions when mounted. It also helps to keep an elegant look in your car.

Uses supercapacitor

Using a supercapacitor instead of a battery allows the camera to work both in cold and hot environments. You do not have to worry about the battery overheating during hot weather or dying during cold winters. Besides, supercapacitors charge and discharge energy faster than batteries, so with this unit you won’t have issues of battery failing to charge or to power the dash cam.

6-layer glass lens

This is the reason why the A119s V2 can record full HD videos at night and during the day. The lens is not only super sensitive but also allows more light to pass through. You can be sure of excellent image and video quality during the day and night.

An optional feature to consider is the CPL filter. It reduces glare when you’re driving in bright sunlight.

Loop recording

Instead of recording videos as one single loop, the VIOFO A119s V2 cuts them into smaller loops for easier file management. Despite that feature, the resultant footage is seamless and doesn’t drag or buffer. When the memory card fills up the dash cam will automatically overwrite the oldest loops with the newest.

Parking mode and G-sensor

The dash cam can detect movements in front of the vehicle when it is parked. It will come on and record a short clip that you can use for reference later on. Additionally, the built-in G-sensor detects impacts and accidents and locks footage that was recorded just before and after such events.

Pros

  • Option for GPS mount in case you want to add the GPS feature.
  • Stable when mounted, it won’t come lose or record shaky footage.
  • Improved functioning because of the upgrades.
  • Fitted with advanced Novatek 96660 chipset
  • High-quality videos and photos both day and night.
  • Weather resistant.
  • Complete Viofo a199 manual

Cons

The primary concern with the VIOFO A119s V2 is the GPS attachment. It has a weak connection, so much that it makes the dash cam to shake, and when it shakes it automatically shuts off. So if you opt for the GPS option you may encounter this challenge.

In all fairness, the company has made deliberate efforts to rectify the problem. They now add EVA foam padding in each purchase to help stabilize the dash cam. With a little installation skill and effort you can find your way around making it completely stable.
