Description

Undoubtedly one of the most decent WiFi dash cams available in the market today, the PEMENOL M7 Plus allows you to capture all the important events and scenes as you drive.

Perhaps the most noticeable feature of the M7 Plus is that it doesn’t have a screen. That could be good or bad thing; it all depends on how you look at it. The advantage is that the lack of a screen makes this dash cam really small and discreet. It’s just bigger than a golf ball. The downside is that you can’t view real-time footage or playback videos straight from the unit.

It, however, works with mobile devices thanks to the built-in Wi-Fi. By linking it to your iOS or Android device you can aim the dash cam, view all the real-time action, take photos, download videos/images and share them on social media platforms.

You don’t need to set the camera’s time, it will automatically pick the date and time setting on your phone once you pair them using Wi-Fi. Also, it offers two charging ports – one for the dash cam and one for your phone.

Main Features

Plug and play

First of all, the PEMENOL M7 Plus attaches to the windshield. The box includes a mounting bracket. Simply press it on the windshield firmly and then pull the switch to the side and it will attach to the glass. Run the power cable to your vehicle’s cigarette. The cord measures 3.5 meters, which is sufficient for virtually all types of vehicles.

With that setup you can now affix the dash cam to the mount. It will switch on and start recording automatically as soon as you turn the vehicle’s ignition on. It has the capacity to greet you with a “Hi” before you start the drive.

WiFi dash cam

The M7 Plus is a WiFi dash cam. It has a built-in Wi-Fi module so you don’t need to install a separate Wi-Fi in your car. In case you’re worried about the cost of maintenance, don’t. The unit doesn’t use data or a SIM, meaning you’ll spend absolutely nothing in maintaining it.

1080P videos

As far as video quality goes, this WiFi dash cam records full HD footage of 1080P in all lighting conditions. You can use it at night as comfortably as during the day. The accompanying app comes with its own video player named the Player_HQ_v5 from where you can view real-time footage or playback.

Alternatively you can transfer the videos to another electronic device for viewing. That is possible because of the various file formats supported, including the popular MP4 and MOV. It also supports audio recording.

140-degree viewing angle

One of the best features of the M7 Plus Wifi dash cam is the super wide field of view that you get. For starters the mounting bracket is 360-degree rotatable so the camera can face any direction you want.

In addition to that, it uses a 6-layer glass lens that covers an impressive 140-degree viewing angle. With this in your car you can be sure that you won’t miss anything on the road, including road signs and license plates.

G-sensor and motion detector

The dash cam is fitted with a G-sensor that automatically detects collisions. It saves and locks all the footage that was recorded just before and after the collision.

Besides that handy-feature the M7 Plus can also detect movements that are quick and strange. When it detects such movements while in parking mode it will automatically come on and record a short clip for your reference later.

Pros

  • Supports up to 64GB of storage. Please use a class 10 TF card with this dash cam.
  • Compact size. It is slightly bigger than a golf ball and only weighs 13.8 ounces.
  • Made for discretion. Easy to conceal behind the rear-view mirror.
  • Uses loop recording.
  • Easy to install and use.

Cons

Like most other WiFi devices, the download speeds of the PEMENOL M7 Plus are pretty slow. But it doesn’t have any buffering or delays when showing real-time footage.

Also, a zooming function would have helped many people who may want to zoom in on license plates or signs. Unfortunately this dash cam doesn’t have the option.

All in all it’s a pretty amazing WiFi dash cam that will certainly serve you. It comes complete with everything you need, including a 2-port power charger, 2.4GHz remote snapshot button, mounting bracket and a user manual. The only thing you’ll have to purchase separately is the memory card.
