The KDLINKS X1 Full-HD first hit the market in 2014 and has grown in popularity consistently. This affordable dashboard camera is among the highest rated in pretty much all the dashboard camera reviews that are available. That should not come as a surprise considering how the manufacturer packed a whole lot of amazing features in the compact gadget.
Some of the items that you will get when you purchase it include an X1 car camera, a car charger with a long cable, a windshield suction cup with a GPS module, an extra suction cup but without a GPS module, an 8 GB microSD card, a card reader, a CD player with the gadget’s GPS function software, and a user manual.
Discreet and easy to use
At only 1.15 pounds in weight and 6.61 X 5.12 X 3.23 inches in dimensions, the X1 is fairly inconspicuous. It is very easy to mount and despite the icon-heavy interface, the whole unit is actually simple to control. One of the most important features on the interface is the emergency button that you can use to secure current footage. Once you hit it, the camera will not overwrite the selected footage with a new one. The 2.7” screen is stealthy and features a black casing. One added advantage of using the X1 is the fact that it uses one USB port for power as well as offloading videos to a PC. Therefore, you don’t need a card reader to copy content. Another cool feature is its ability to act as a webcam when connected to a computer.
Packed with additional features
When it comes to performance, the KDLINKS X1 Full-HD has features that are excellent for any modern driver. It has an auto-record function that starts the camera as soon as the car starts. Its built-in GPS feature records GPS data into the video footage and makes it possible to check the vehicle’s speed, location, and route on Google Maps. The Li-polymer 3.7v 120mah battery that the dash cam uses can withstand high and low temperatures. That should give you some comfort when you are driving to locations that experience extreme temperatures. As far as footage recording goes, the X1 covers a field of view of 165 degrees and thus features one of the largest viewing angles in the market today.
High quality video
The single most important aspect of any camera is the quality of videos that it produces. Needless to say, the X1’s outstanding performance matches the excellent quality of output that it delivers. The Novatek NT96650 processor records full HD videos (1920 x 1080p) at 30 fps and uses a combination of six-glass F1.6 lenses and extremely sensitive AR0330 sensors to ensure excellent quality. The quality of night videos is almost equally impressive on account of its WDR Superior Night Vision technology. Videos are recorded in MOV while its 12MP photos are recorded in JPG.
